AIcruiters vs LinkedIn Recruiter: what is the difference?

LinkedIn Recruiter is a per-seat tool that gives recruiters search, filters and InMail inside LinkedIn's network; the recruiter does the work. AIcruiters is an agentic sourcing platform that executes the work itself: vacancy analysis, search, ranking with evidence, outreach and follow-up, under your approval rules. You can keep some seats and hand the repetitive sourcing to AIcruiters.

Is AIcruiters a replacement for LinkedIn Recruiter?

Partly, and it depends on how your team uses its seats. LinkedIn Recruiter is a workspace: it gives a recruiter access to LinkedIn's member network, advanced filters, recommended matches and a monthly allowance of InMail credits. Everything that happens after that, from building the search to writing the fifth follow-up, is still done by a person in that seat.

AIcruiters is built around that second part. It turns a vacancy into a search strategy, runs the search across multiple routes, ranks every candidate against the full vacancy and sends a personal message per candidate on LinkedIn. Your team decides which of those steps need approval. AIcruiters therefore replaces much of the manual work that seats are bought for, and with it possibly part of the seats, but not LinkedIn itself.

LinkedIn Recruiter
AIcruiters
What it is
A recruiting tool inside LinkedIn: search, filters, projects, InMail and reporting. LinkedIn says Recruiter gives access to a network of more than 1 billion members.
An agentic sourcing platform that executes the sourcing workflow from vacancy to handover of an interested candidate.
Who does the work
The recruiter builds searches, reviews profiles and writes messages, with AI help such as recommended matches and AI-assisted messaging. LinkedIn also sells Hiring Assistant, an AI agent, as an add-on to Recruiter.
The agent analyses the vacancy, searches, ranks, writes and follows up. The recruiter sets criteria, tone and approval rules, and takes over when a candidate is interested.
Cost modelCost
Per seat. LinkedIn does not publish a list price for Recruiter: pricing depends on company size, number of seats and more, via LinkedIn sales.
No price list. A business case per customer; the public calculator assumes an investment of 30% of the gross sourcing saving. Always indicative.
Outreach
InMail with a monthly credit allowance per seat. LinkedIn lists 150 InMail credits per month per seat for Recruiter Corporate and 30 for Recruiter Lite. Bulk messaging on Recruiter.
A personal message per candidate on LinkedIn, based on profile and vacancy, plus consistent follow-up. Your team sets tone, rules and whether each message needs approval.
Ranking and evidence
40+ search filters and AI-powered recommended matches on Recruiter. The judgement of fit happens in the recruiter's head.
Every candidate ranked against the complete vacancy, with the evidence: matching experience, missing requirements and risk factors.
Control
Every action is taken by a person, so control sits with each individual recruiter.
Approval rules per action (search, selection, outreach, handover). Uncertain cases go to a human. AIcruiters does not decide who is hired.
Integrations
ATS integration with a list of LinkedIn partners, depending on the plan.
ATS connection assessed per ATS: direct integration, structured handover or an alternative setup.
Where it is strongest
The largest professional network, InMail, a tool every recruiter already knows, and profiles candidates maintain themselves.
Taking over repetitive sourcing work so capacity grows with vacancies instead of with seats and hours.

Where is LinkedIn Recruiter the better choice?

LinkedIn Recruiter remains the better tool in several situations, and we would rather you know that before a demo than after.

  • You hire a handful of people a year. With low, irregular volume a single seat, or even Recruiter Lite, is simple and predictable. There is little repetitive work for an agent to take over.
  • Your sourcing is relationship work. Executive and board searches often run on a small, known pool where each approach is a personal conversation. Search is not the bottleneck there.
  • You rely on LinkedIn-native features. Talent insights, LinkedIn Jobs, InMail reporting and a team that lives in Recruiter projects are real advantages of staying in one ecosystem.
  • You want LinkedIn's own AI. LinkedIn sells Hiring Assistant as an add-on to Recruiter. If you are committed to LinkedIn's stack, evaluate it alongside AIcruiters.

Which part of the work does AIcruiters take over?

The hours behind a seat, not the seat itself. A recruiter with LinkedIn Recruiter still has to translate the vacancy into searches, open profile after profile, decide who fits, write each message and remember to follow up. AIcruiters runs those steps as one workflow and hands over candidates who responded positively, with the profile, the match rationale and the conversation history.

  • Vacancy analysis: hard requirements separated from preferences, titles and career paths mapped
  • Search across multiple routes, duplicates and irrelevant profiles removed
  • Ranking with evidence, including what is missing
  • Personal outreach and follow-up, within your approval rules

What happens to your seat costs?

Seat costs scale with headcount: every recruiter who sources needs a seat. The public AIcruiters calculator therefore works with indicative assumptions: a seat at €10,000 per year, of which 80% can be replaced, and a sourcing FTE at €75,000 per year, of which 60% can be replaced. The AIcruiters investment is set at 30% of the gross saving. These are calculator assumptions, not LinkedIn's price and not a quote.

Your real number depends on your contract, how many seats are used for sourcing rather than for InMail or pipeline work, and your vacancy volume. The guide to LinkedIn Recruiter cost explains what drives the price. The business case replaces the assumptions with your own figures.

Can you use both?

Yes, and that is often the most realistic setup. Keep a smaller number of seats for InMail, market mapping and the searches a senior recruiter wants to run personally. Let AIcruiters handle the recurring vacancies where most sourcing hours go. The ranking and approval steps are described on the human-in-the-loop page.

How do you test the difference yourself?

Run a fair test on one vacancy instead of comparing feature lists.

  1. 01

    Pick a real, active vacancy

Choose a role your team is sourcing now, not an easy showcase role.

  2. 02

    Write down the manual baseline

How long did the search, screening and messaging take in LinkedIn Recruiter, and how many relevant profiles came out?

  3. 03

Run the same vacancy through AIcruiters

Review the search strategy, the ranked shortlist and the evidence behind each candidate before any message goes out.

  4. 04

    Compare on your criteria

Relevance of the shortlist, quality of the messages, recruiter time returned and what it means for your seats.

Questions about AIcruiters and LinkedIn Recruiter

Does AIcruiters need a LinkedIn Recruiter seat to work?

How AIcruiters connects to LinkedIn and your other sources is configured per customer and discussed in the technical review. For the business case, the question is how many of your current seats are mainly used for sourcing work that the agent can take over.

Can we cancel all our LinkedIn Recruiter seats?

Sometimes, but not always. The calculator assumes 80% of seat costs can be replaced, which means some seats often stay. We calculate the realistic reduction with your actual contract and usage.

Is LinkedIn's Hiring Assistant the same thing?

Both are AI agents for sourcing. Hiring Assistant is sold by LinkedIn as an add-on to Recruiter. AIcruiters is a separate platform built by SocialFind and UPPR, configured around your vacancies, workflow and approval rules, and priced on a business case rather than per seat.

Will candidates notice the messages are written by AI?

Each message is based on the candidate's profile and the vacancy, in the tone your team sets. You decide whether messages go out automatically or only after a recruiter has approved them.
