Step 01 · Vacancy analysis
Hunter role, clear buyer
Hard: closing new business in B2B field sales, selling to technical buyers, living within reach of the region, Dutch. Preference: experience in installation or construction supply, a specific CRM.

Industry / Sales
As sales recruiting software, AIcruiters does not search on title, because sales titles say little about the work: a key account manager can be a hunter or a farmer, selling six-figure deals or reordering stock. It sources on deal type, sales cycle, customer segment and visible results, ranks candidates against the full vacancy with every score explained, and approaches them about their track record.

Salespeople are easy to find and hard to reach. Almost every account manager, SDR and sales lead keeps a LinkedIn profile, because their network is part of their job. That also makes them a heavily approached group: the best performers get recruiter messages every week and ignore anything that reads like a template.
The second problem is noise in the data. Titles inflate (a first-year SDR may be called business development manager), quota attainment is rarely public, and a strong year may owe more to territory than to skill. Profiles do hold useful proxies: President's Club or target awards, promotions within a short time, growth in deal size, a move from inside sales to field sales, and the products and buyers they describe.
A sales vacancy has a few hard requirements and many preferences disguised as requirements. This split is where most sales searches win or lose.
Quota attainment is almost never verifiable from a profile. Treat it as a question for the first conversation.
AIcruiters does not guess a number. It ranks each candidate against the full vacancy and shows the reasoning: which experience matches your deal type, what is missing and what looks risky. A recruiter sees in one view why a candidate is on the list. More on how candidate ranking works.
Lotte B.
Talk about results and earning potential, not about the title. A good seller reads a message the way a buyer reads a pitch: is this about me, and what is in it for me? Name something specific they achieved or sold, then give the facts that decide a move: product and buyer, territory, how the variable pay works, what realistic earnings look like and how much pipeline exists on day one.
Avoid the phrases every recruiter uses. "Exciting opportunity" and "fast-growing company" signal a template. Sellers respect a short message with a clear ask more than a long one. Our guide to LinkedIn outreach messages shows examples.
Account manager, business developer, sales consultant and commercial specialist can all be the same job. Search on activity and deal type.
A seller of complex B2B software to IT managers may move well to another complex sale. A shared buyer often predicts a good move better than a shared product.
New business and account management are different skills. Write down which one the role really is before the search starts.
Selling for a market leader with inbound demand is not the same as building a territory from scratch. Look at what the candidate says they did.
Example scenario, fictional. A technical wholesaler in Noord-Brabant hires a field account manager for new business with installation companies. Base salary plus commission, company car, region southern Netherlands.

Hard: closing new business in B2B field sales, selling to technical buyers, living within reach of the region, Dutch. Preference: experience in installation or construction supply, a specific CRM.

Step 02 · Market search
Routes cover account managers, business developers and area sales managers at suppliers to installers, contractors and facility companies. Inside sales profiles without field experience are removed.

Step 03 · Fit ranking
A seller who opened new dealer accounts ranks high. A strong account manager with only existing customers scores lower, with the reason: no evidence of new business.

Step 04 · Personal outreach
The draft refers to the dealer network the candidate built and states the territory and commission structure plainly. The team reviews the first messages before they go out.

Step 05 · Follow-up and handover
The agent follows up within the rules the team set. Positive responses go to the recruiter with profile, match reasoning and the conversation, ready to ask about actual quota results.

No. Quota figures are rarely public. The agent works with visible proxies such as awards, promotions and deal types, and flags what the recruiter should verify.
Yes. Where an agency places sales profiles regularly, consistent search quality across consultants matters. See AI sourcing for recruitment agencies.
They ignore generic ones. Each message is written for one candidate and one vacancy, and your team decides on tone, rules and whether approval is needed before sending.
Yes, especially when sales hiring is recurring and the team has no dedicated sourcer. More on in-house talent acquisition.
Bring an account manager or SDR vacancy. In 30 minutes you see whether the role is really hunting or farming, how candidates rank on deal type and buyer, and a draft first message about their results.
